How to Pray & Fast on Laylatul Qadr?

There are some things that can make your experience of Laylatul Qadr more meaningful and satisfying.

  • Another critical element of effective prayer and fasting is simplicity. Too often, people get bogged down in complicated religious rituals or try to do too much at once. When you pray or fast, try to focus on one thing at a time and allow God's grace and mercy to work through you.

  • The first dua, or prayer, is called the "dua al-lay," or the "night prayer." It is usually recited in the early hours of Ramadan night before sunrise.
  • The second dua, or prayer, is called the "dua al-Qadr," or the "prayer of destiny." It is usually recited at dusk on the last day of Ramadan.
